This was channeled to me in a way that veered off what I expected.

A message from One Feather--In all you do, please take the time to value yourselves enough to take care of what is important. That would be yourself! Many of you worry about friends and family; and even strangers, but seldom put the emphasis on what you need. While I am not trying to get you to be egotistical, the truth is that unless you feel good about yourself, it is hard to truly feel good about the rest of the world. The production you want will increase if you begin to mandate that even the smallest steps towards your personal goals are taken.
In your existence of earthly living, the essence of who you are is hugely created by the respect you give to your heart, mind and soul. However, it is the courtesy given to your physical body that needs to be substantially honored. While there are times when some people have soul lessons that are learned through hardships, such as serious illnesses; what I am referring to are those who choose to abuse themselves. When you make choices to ignore what can be changed, you are disrespecting your value to the Great Spirit. There are many different forms of help and healing that can be taken; from simple mental toughness, emotional support, or even the blessings that can come through gifted energy healers. Excuses fall short when you fail to take advantage of a universe that is filled with answers. Losing hope means you have not explored everything at your disposal.
During one of my incarnated lives, one of my best friends fell victim to a chemical dependency. While it was acceptable to hit the peace pipe during important rituals, this one found a way to abuse it. Dependency is not new to society. It has been around in some form for millenniums. Some of you are jumping to the fact that you think this message is all about chemical dependencies. You would be partially correct. I am also referencing any harmful, addictive behavior. It makes no difference if you are a gambler, drinker or hooked on drugs. It makes no difference if you are fused with thoughts of overdoing anything at all.
What this message is really about is teaching you to have the courage to reach out to all sources of assistance. There are many gifted angels amongst you who can share the burdens you feel saddled with. If you value life, then you will find an outlet that is satisfactory to make you stronger. If not, you will continue on a path that hurts you; often without realizing how much it also hurts the people who love you. In the eyes of those in the Light, it can be said that no single person is ever a lost cause; nor are they when they return to energy form. It is at this point that I share with you my love for each of my brothers and sisters. From my soul, I will do and send all of my love to those who are affected by poor outcomes. I will also send all my love to anyone who earnestly tries to improve themselves, no matter how miniscule the change may be. Feel the omnipotence of your guides and teachers! If you show any amount of effort, it will be doubled and redoubled continuously by those who have shed their physical bodies. That is simply because in the great vapors of the other dimension, every individual is seen as having deep purpose and importance. Please feel that way about yourselves and help those who may not. These are The Spoken Words of Spirit.

Interesting! These words had a different tone tonight... Seems to be speaking direct to someone(s).
Although, I can relate in a past time! These words are words of wisdom as a guide to find hope again...
I was there once...lost, hopeless and destructive. I still can't believe I live to tell - I am a miracle and am full of hope and love for my life. Today I I have faith!! I overcame, conquered and live to inspire now!

I do ask One Feather for his help for one of my grandson who tries but, always falls down, again and again with his addictions. I know he is a beautiful person and not a lost cause, I just wish he knew it.

Mary, you need to know that you are doing all you can. Sometimes the person who needs the help has to first see that they need it.
Jeni, you should be so proud of what you have accomplished. I was amazed to "see" how far you have come from those troubled days.
