The Spoken Words of Spirit--April 22, 2010

Never let an avalanche of other peoples problems become your problem if you are not initially involved. While it is spiritually correct to want to help someone in need, there is a fine line between that and getting snowed under with their issues. It hinders your personal growth, but many times it also retards the growth of the person you are trying to resolve the problems for. Each situation needs to be looked at with an eye towards how beneficial it will be for both of you if you step up to assist them. Perhaps what we are trying to explain is that if you blindly give aid to people who are perfectly capable of changing their approach to life, no one benefits. They stay in a mode of “do for me” and ultimately you will start to resent the lack of effort and not want to be on the giving end anymore.

Compassion for those is need is fine. Helping people who are truly in need is great. It is only when you feel as though someone is constantly putting their hand out--and looking for a handout--that you will recognize what we are speaking about. The world is in a state of flux right now. Earthly disruptions are seemingly everywhere, thus causing genuine need of assistance. This message is not referring to those situations, but on the aspects of personal lessons. Yes, while we are aware that economic woes are worldwide, there are many people who fall into a pattern of thinking that the universe is against them. It is the folks who are actively trying to turn the tide and are struggling who deserve the help the most.

When you look at this from your point of view, as if the problem was your own, then it should be clearer as to why we are stating that people need to lift themselves up. It is far more rewarding when you have the revelation of how good it feels to have succeeded at something on your own. The flipside to this is that sometimes it does take other people to help you down a productive path. Many times, the lesson you have to learn is to actually let other people give you a helping hand. Being ashamed of having landed in a tough spot, and then becoming resistant to accepting help when it is offered, is also not letting your soul grow. Life without human compassion makes it a much more grueling journey.

Through the eyes of Spirit, we want all people to learn and grow. We want you to maximize the gifts of self preservation, as well as the gift of humanity and compassion. When you absorb this, whether you are on the giving or receiving end, life will begin to flourish. The physical world will then become a place of palatial harmony; not one of distrust and dismay. You can only do your part to control the environment around you, which will create a rolling wave of peaceful energy throughout the neighborhood, nation and planet. It can be quite amazing to think that your actions can have such a far-reaching effect, but time and space is a simple continuum. May bright skies allow the stars to twinkle before you, creating an opportunity for you to receive a million wishes. These are The Spoken Words of Spirit.

I think this was written for me

I had to say no, recently, to a request, and have felt guilty. Now, feel I did the right thing this time

Thank you, Jim,

God Bless
