Kindness costs nothing to give, use or receive. It falls into the same parameters that love does, where the more you have it around you the better you feel. Those who are the recipients of it are also uplifted and more eager to share it with whomever they come in contact with. The world will begin to swirl in a uniform state of peaceful coexistence when this spirals out to enough people for all to benefit from it.
Quietly imagine what that would feel like in your own everyday life and activities. Think about would it would be like to be stuck in rush hour traffic without the anger of unnecessary honking horns and angry fists being waved violently at you. How would you like to see politeness replace rude behavior in packed stores during last minute holiday shopping? Kindness will create that. What would it feel like if the rules of proper etiquette replaced today’s rushed and selfish attitudes? Kindness will bring that opportunity to you.
Kindness can soften the sorrow of grieving people, or broaden the smiles of toddlers who are trying their best to learn their native language or master a new toy. It is one of the most versatile powers that the human being possesses, yet it is sadly underused by far too many on the planet. You can make a difference in your corner of the world every time you catch yourself about to snap with a snippy retort to someone who has had an angry or sullen word for you. All spiritually driven and thoroughly blessed people are innately kind and more patient with the swill that the physical experience can share with all of mankind. Kindness allows this to be so.
Are you kind to yourself? While we have been pointing out the not so subtle differences kindness can have on others, we have not spotlighted what it does for you. When you spend less time lambasting every miniscule error; stop flogging yourself for each mental slip you make, then you are replacing the negative attack with a hint of kindness. Ultimately, this will make you more confident and buoyed by the power of an undercurrent of love from the Creator. What better reason is there to live in a state of kindness? These are The Spoken Words of Spirit.
