The Spoken Words of Spirit--September 26, 2008

Are you an "action-taking" person? When someone requests your help, no matter if it's large or small, do you step up and give your time to them? This is a topic that Spirit wishes to discuss with you because too many people tend to sit back and want to only receive help. We want you to make a concerted effort to give a few minutes of your day towards directly helping someone, or at the very least, taking an action that can be of help to them. In the time it takes someone to sip a cup of coffee or tea, some positive show of support for someone who might always be available to help you and others will make a tremendous difference. You can run shopping errands, call someone to make them smile, cook a meal, or if time permits, you can offer even more. How about reading to a hospital-ridden child or an elderly person in a nursing facility? Do you give back to someone who does their best to keep giving to you? Has anyone asked a favor of you recently that you dismissed? The premise of this message is to arrange for each of you to understand that you will be a receiver of many more things if you learn and ACT on giving some help back. The great thing about growing and prospering spiritually is that it makes no difference how you perform an act of kindness, just so long as you do. Think about all the people who make a difference in your life and reach out to them to see what their needs are. It will make the earth a more enjoyable place to be.
