The Spoken Words of Spirit--November 26, 2008

Lost in the shuffle of the Thanksgiving holiday is that the day before and after are very high days of stress. Many people are preparing to cook or preparing to travel. Some are sitting idly, wondering if they will be fed a meal. For most of the world, they are unaware that there is a particular day to give thanks. It is "business as usual" for them. For those living in and affiliated with the United States, there is a recognition of Thanksgiving. This is a good thing--if only everyone actually stopped long enough to give thanks.

From the side of spirit, we thank you for your efforts to be better people. We thank you for your generosity, spirituality, love, compassion, work ethics, healing abilities and much more. Mostly, Spirit thanks you for being you. There is no need to worry about being perfect, or a need to be concerned with how God and Spirit evaluate you. As long as you are making a legitimate attempt to be the best you can be, then of course we would see you as loving friends of ours. Your soul is part of our souls. If we are taking the time today to pay homage and thank all of you, who will you give thanks to tomorrow? It is ironic that the physical plane needs to have a special day to do this, when we are thankful all the time.

Our point is quite simple; take the time to recognize or honor just one person who has made a difference in your life. Here's the catch. We prefer you do this for someone you might not ordinarily acknowledge. The reason we said that is because we want you to make a difference in someones life. Thanking people you communicate with on a regular basis is fine. However, it is those you don't see or hear from much that had an impact on your direction who will probably benefit the most from some kinds words or deeds.

Today, a day earlier then the traditional Thanksgiving Day, is a good time to spread the love. You can still be courteous and honorable by thanking anyone who deserves it, but try to send a blessing of love and thanks to someone outside your normal comfort zone. It is a great way to expand the concept of a loving energy and will undoubtedly be returned to you in the form of new people entering into your life in the future. Be grateful for the fact that you have a life to cherish and make others feel that way about themselves too! What you will never know is if you are the one responsible for saving a life today, because many will be pulled from the brink of self inflicted deaths. Think about that and then understand how a few simple words, gestures or a warm smile can change the world. You can make today a better day! These are the spoken words of Spirit.
